What is fun about a custom renovation is actually being able to decide where everything and everyone are going to live in the new space. I have sat on a milk crate looking for the comfortable place to mount the toilet paper holder; I have built a box with a bench to make sure a shower space would feel spacious; and now you can see that I have made an island mock up so my client and friend can figure out where the cabinets should go. Is the sink going to be big enough to fit the frying pan and will there be enough counter space if they choose a large sink? Will the island jut too far into the living space? This is akin to building a fort and fitting it out for a great adventure... and with a well laid out kitchen, cooking and entertaining will be a great, fun adventure! Cheers to the options!
