SKIING or SOUL CLEANSING

Or Both! One in the same!

I just returned last night from some wonderful skiing out in Colorado. Wow! Breckenridge, Copper, Arapahoe Basin, and Vail. We skied over 120,000 vertical feet and this 48 year old body isn't tired in the least -- maybe sleepy, but not tired or sore! I put on my work boots this morning which are similar to ski boots but not nearly as cold or fun (should those things go together as happily as I made them sound?) I have two other issues with the work boots - okay three, but I already mentioned they're not as fun as ski boots. The first is that they add two inches to my height and I banged my head on the door and scraped some skin off the top of my head this morning, and two, they make a black mark on the couch when I take my after lunch nap.

Skiing was a breathtaking, soul cleansing, adrenaline pumping, eye mesmerizing, lung squeezing, back country hiking, weather beating, sun sparkling, powder floating, tree avoiding, cornice jumping, mogul bumping, corduroy turning, laughter inducing, friend socializing, Jåeger bomb drinking, nature appreciating and smile making fun adventure.

I called my parents to thank them for all the ski trips we took as a family: homemade dinners at the cabin, packed lunches at the lodge, invited friends, ski lessons taught by Dad, new ski clothes and skis, the recipe (recipe to follow), the season ski pass from Gramma and Grampa and the ability and desire that has been with me since strapping on skis at a very early age. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Some people might say back to work, but as an entrepreneur, I am always thinking about work. So, I'll say let's just do some more work a little harder this week.
